Final Cut Pro X Features Wishlist

When Final Cut Pro X launched it lacked many features editors considered to be essential. Over time the folks at Apple have added many of these features (though some are left to the world of Third Party Plug-ins). Oscars 2015

So the Academy Awards have come and gone, and now everyone is going to rush out to see the big winners. I'm sure for many people the night was spent cross checking their lists of what they predicted would win and lose. For the past few years I've always kept two lists running: who will win and who should win. I must admit this year was much harder to call. Not only were there a lot of really great films, but depending on how the wind was blowing the "will win" could go to more than one option. But the results are in. The mystery is over. Here's my thoughts on this years big winners.

The Battle of the Blades Continues...

About a week ago I was contacted out of the blue by a employee of Razor Company, a Toronto based online shaving company. I suppose my Battle of the (Razor) Blades article is pretty popular and they wanted to throw their blades into the mix. I was happy to oblige; I'm not a professional reviewer but I watch enough Top Gear and figured "razor blades, cars, what's the difference"? I also liked the idea of supporting a local company, after all we Torontonians gotta stick together! What follows is my review of the experience, which is by no means scientific.

Reviewing Season 2 of "House of Cards"

I must admit, I was not one of the millions who fawned over season 1 of House of Cards. Sure, I thought the acting was outstanding, the cinematography absolutely beautiful, and it showed great promise for what a Netflix Original Series could be; I also found it incredibly plodding, and slightly too much style over substance.
