Coldplay: How We Saw The World (Part 1)

“It’s Tuesday, March the 23rd, 2006…”

My first ever rock concert. And I don't just mean this tour, or Coldplay in general, I quite literally mean this concert. I was there on March 23, 2006. My high-school girlfriend and I had terrible seats on the right-hand side; something I found supremely off-putting (ever since I've always ensured I had proper "middle" seats for every concert since). I bought an over-priced ill fitting t-shirt and a tour programme (still have the programme). Went to school late the next day. Brought a point-and-shoot disposable camera. Probably still have one or two terrible photos from the night somewhere…

That night they mentioned they were filming the show for a later DVD release. Well, that DVD release never happened, however the film was eventually broadcast on Much Music in Canada, as well as other stations internationally. And thankfully for us folks in the future, it also was broadcast on HDNET, meaning we actually have the concert in HD with surround sound.

Over the years fans have ripped and distributed the concert but being an un-official release no official artwork ever existed. A few years back I took it upon myself to create some artwork for my iTunes version of the album, as well as a new Plex poster for my HDTV airing, and figured I might as well share them with the world.

Here’s hoping the boys’ll return to Toronto sometime soon. I’d love to have the “tears stream down [my] face” once more.
