On The Floor
On the Floor is one of Canada’s leading dance competition based in the GTA, offering “The Ultimate Dance Experience®” both at their competitions and their year-round events. For the past few years I’ve been creating video content for them; including online promos, trailers, and on-stage video backdrops.
10th Anniversary Kick-off Reel
To celebrate On The Floor’s 10th anniversary I produced this exciting video that would play at each venue during the competitions 10th season.
The Ultimate Battle
Each On The Floor competition has a final dance-off which they dubbed the “Ultimate Battle”. To help build excitement and energize the audience I created this high-impact video opener.
Decipher 2021 Intro
The “Decipher” is one of On the Floor’s most unique categories: a series of unique criteria are delivered to participating studios in the lead up to the event, with the ultimate goal of creating a completely one of a kind dance. At the event this video is shown to let the audience in on the secret.
Virtual Photo Booth Promo
A mainstay of the On The Floor experience is their on-site photo booth. But with the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down in-person events for 2020 the team wanted to create a special way for dancers to still get some of that classic OTF experience. The resut was a virtual photo booth, for which I animated this short online promo.
Improv Category Opening Video
Like many competitions, On The Floor features a special “Improv” category where dancers are encouraged to choreograph a routine on the spot with no prior rehearsal. To elevate this categories status I build a unique video intro segment, in addition to designing the “Improv” branding.
Decipher 2017 Intro
For the 2017 iteration of the “Decipher” category I built a unique animation that incorporated footage from that year’s “artist”, Michael Jackson; taking cues from the iconic video for Scream.
Oddities: A Night for Sick Kids Gala Teaser
To promote their annual “Night for Sick Kids” Gala, I produced a series of online promos. Featuring interviews with the cast of dancers, as well as original motion graphic elements that paid tribute to that year’s theme, the films of Tim Burton.
