The Movie Podcast for Simpsons’ Fans
Like many millennials, growing up Nate and Adam were first introduced to countless classic movies through references on The Simpsons.
Each episode, they talk about a movie parodied on The Simpsons; maybe it was The Simpsons that introduced them to the film, or maybe when they finally saw it they realized “Hey! That’s where that Simpsons joke comes from”. Regardless, they pick one that at least one of them hasn’t seen (or hasn’t seen in a while), watch it, and come together to discuss.
The preeminent Simpsons’ podcast about movies, The Springfield Googolplex has featured numerous guests including filmmakers like Alex Ross Perry, authors like Alan Siegel, and Simpsons’ writers and directors like Bill Oakley, Jon Vitti, and David Silverman. Part re-watch podcast, part cinema history podcast, it is a deep dive into the cinematic influences of the longest running television show in history. Combing through the first 13 seasons to compile an in-depth database of movie references, it also serves as a movie nerd’s Rosetta Stone for film references and parodies.
I produce and co-host the show with my long-time best friend, Nate Storring.
